What is a cigarette made of? It is made of all the ingredients necessary for a cancer recipe. Quite literally, cancer on sticks. Every day, one bad habit kills thousands of people. “They relax me, and relieve me of stress. I like them,” said one student. No doubt students are being influenced to do bad things every day but out of everything, the addiction to smoking ruins their health. Students should know smoking cigarettes could be fatal. R.E. Mountain should make students aware of the consequences of smoking. Teachers should contribute by reminding students of what an addiction like this can do to their bodies and their lives.

Teachers should be willing to go that extra mile to let students know as much information as they can about the negative effects cigarettes have on health, even if it is not a part of the curriculum standards. If teachers take at least 10 minutes out of their day once a term, it will make a difference. Students who know of the negative side effects of smoking should let their friends know. Making a few remarks to somebody about the consequences of cigarettes can make a big impact on that person.
