From the beginning of the school year, the LEO members have been working very diligently to contribute towards our very own community. Our first event of the year was the annual Country Celebration, where LEO members received the chance to experience volunteering at a very large and successful festival promoting agriculture, heritage, nature and community. Members also participated in the Apple Heritage Day, held at Derby Reach Regional Park. From this event, the LEO members received a warm thank-you letter from the Derby Reach/Brae Island Park Association saying, the LEOs were a delightful and hardworking group of volunteers and we were very pleased to have their help. Thank you to the LEOs!

Furthermore, the very first Adopt-A-Street session was held on the last week of September, with many members coming out to clean up our community environment by picking up litter. Future Adopt-A-Street events are being planned to be held every last Friday of each month, so that our neighborhood can be kept as an tidy, enjoyable place.

Lastly, LEO club members contributed to the preparation of a global event, World Food Day, by rolling up numerous t-shirts. Although this task seems trivial, this participation was a great aid in bringing success to World Food Day which was held at the Langley Events Centre on October 16th. The Langley LEO Club will continue to provide community services, such as performing music in the senior homes and helping out in the upcoming Halloween event at the Willowbrook Mall. Thank you to all LEO members for making positive contributions to our local community, Langley!
