    The 57th quadrennial presidential election for the United States was conducted on 6 November 2012. On 7 November 2012 Barack Obama, the leader of Democratic Party was re-elected as the President of the United States of America. Mitt Romney, Republican Challenger was defeated by in the U.S. Presidential Elections 2012. Obama won by over 332 votes as compared to the 206 votes of Mitt Romney of all the votes declared by the Electoral College. Obama was successful in getting around 74000 more votes than the competitor, Mitt Romney, out of the eight million votes casted during the Presidential Elections. Obama won 50 percent of the votes while Romney won 48.1 percent. There were 53 members in the Senate from Democratic Party, whereas 45 from Republican Party. In the House of Representatives, the lead went in the way of Republican Party with 232 seats and the Democratic Party was successful in securing 191 seats. Of the six Presidential contests The Republican Party lost four Presidential elections. The two won by them were just with narrow margins. President Obama successfully won over the eight of the nine swing states including Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Virginia, Colorado and Nevada. The only seat he lost from was the seat of North Carolina.  At the same time President Obama, by being back has proved that in the period of austerity and crisis also, an official can survive.
