World’s first ranked player, Novak Djokovic, was able to fight off Andy Murray (currently ranked as number three) in a tight three-setter, winning with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. Djokovic was very lucky to earn a break (where the receiving player breaks the serving players serve; wins the game from receiving) late in the third set, and this sealed the victory for him at the O2 Arena in London.  "Another great match. Another great performance from both of us, I didn't expect anything less, other than a tough match that went down the wire and was decided in the last point,” said Djokovic after sealing the win, and earning a spot in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals. In a head-to-head comparison, Djokovic leads in wins over Andy Murray, 10-7.  At the starting of the match, Murray came out very strong with a break on Novak’s first service game, and only losing a total of three points on his serve in the first set. Despite Murray’s reign in the first set, Djokovic was able to come back in the second, and secure it in the third set when they were at five all. Yet, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds for Djokovic. Murray had earned two break points in the last game, but Djokovic pulled together a forehand smash, and a service winner. Eventually, Murray broke down, and ended up committing two unforced errors to lose the match. Djokovic completed the matches in the Group A category without a single loss.

The other semi-finalists will be decided from the results of Group B. The greatest of all time, Roger Federer, will have a spot reserved for him in the semi-finals as long as he is able to beat the Argentinean, Jaun Martin del Potro in the Group B division.
